Joint Aid 4 Horses Helps Your Horse's Overall Health

Better environment in the digestive tract

What makes a joint product effective? Proper absorption. Without good absorption, hundreds of milligrams of ingredients will be digestively “burned” as a common energy source and never get a chance to contribute to maintaining good joint health. This is especially the case for glucosamine and chondroitin, which are basically large combined molecules of sugars and proteins. For this reason, many other joint products contain high doses of glucosamine and chondroitin -- because they are being inneffectively absorbed -- which can lead to digestive upset.

By contrast, the oat extracts in Joint Aid 4 Horses supplies emulsifiers in the form of Galactolipids and other Polarlipids. These elements aid absorption, not only by supporting emulsification, but also by providing a better medium for the enterocyte cells in the lining of the gut to receive and absorb active ingredients.

Good condition of the gut membranes

Selective passage of molecules through biological membranes is an important part of a well functioning absorption capability. Polar Lipids from oats are positively charged membrane fats that form the major constituent of biological membranes. Their molecular properties are responsible for the formation of the cell membrane lipid bilayer – an essential barrier for the selective passage of molecules and ions into and out of cells. The amino acid Glutamine is involved in many metabolic processes and also serves as a source of maintenance for intestinal mucosal cells.

Presence of all important building blocks

Maintaining good joint health becomes successively more difficult for the body as it ages. Building blocks that used to be created within the body are no longer produced in adequate amounts, which results in joint pains, stiffness and restricted or slower movement.

Joint Aid 4 Horses is uniquely formulated for this specific purpose by providing the most important building blocks for joint maintenance: Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Glutamine, MSM and Ester-C. These ingredients all aid synergistically in the maintenance of cartilage, collagen and many other cell structures of the body, which together are responsible for flexibility and unimpaired movement.

Antioxidant Protection against degrading processes

Cell damage from free radicals is one of the major causes of aging and degenerative diseases.  In order to slow down these degenerative processes, the body requires both inherent and supplemented antioxidants. Antioxidants target and destroy free radicals in the body, thereby protecting against oxidative damage to cells.

Joint Aid 4 Horses provides two powerful antioxidants: Curcumin from Turmeric, and Tocotrienols from oats:

Curcumin is a natural ingredient that not only supports your horse's innate anti-inflammatory processes, but also acts as a free radical scavenger (antioxidant) that protects fats and oils by inhibiting lipid peroxidation (degradation).

Tocotrienols are special antioxidants, which together with tocopherols make up the entire Vitamin E family. The unique power of tocotrienols is due to a special molecular structure, which enables them to penetrate efficiently into the fatty layers of cell membranes -- a level of protection that cannot be achieved by tocopherols alone.
